We were born in York in 1971 and were founded by Catherine Paver, an ambitious and proud mum who took out a £200 bank loan (she told them for a sofa!) to Fund her new business passion and find the perfect style for herself. everyone's feet.

Pavers and the Environment
We are very proud of our British heritage and are happy to still call York home, where all our head office departments are based and we deliver all our shoes to our stores and direct from our base in Yorkshire into the hands of our customers.
While everyone needs a little makeover every now and then, in October 2006 our headquarters and warehouse changed and evolved to keep up with us, but our foothold is Katherine House, our eco-friendly Headquarters and state-of-the-art distribution center, we don't just worry about our customers' feet! It's our own too, and we're very concerned about our carbon footprint and our impact on the environment.
We know that when we use energy, we produce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that alter the climate. So at our headquarters, we have the latest technology that allows us to give something back. In 2011, we installed a renewable energy system with solar panels on our warehouse roofs to generate some of our own electricity, and we can now generate 25% of the electricity we need at our headquarters and warehouse. We can put it back on the grid and use motion sensors to energy-efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting systems.

We are carbon neutral!
Advocating for sustainability has always been at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to leading the way in changing the future of retail for the better. In 2021, we will be the first major UK footwear retailer to be certified carbon neutral internationally and to participate in the UN's Climate Now initiative.
Working with One Carbon World, the global resource partner of the UN's climate neutrality initiative, Pavers calculates and discloses the current carbon footprint of businesses, and with the support of the Pavers Foundation, we directly fund the offset (or balance) of all emissions through Certified carbon credits purchased under the auspices of
90% of our carbon credits support the Guanaré project in Uruguay, a 100-year-old reforestation project in Uruguay. The purpose of the project is to convert degraded grasslands into beneficial forest plantations that help the planet adapt to a changing climate by providing critical stormwater management, ecosystem services and wildlife habitat.

Over the past 50 years, we have built a reputation as one of the UK's most popular footwear companies, delivering comfort and pleasure in everything we do. To celebrate Pavers Shoes' 5th anniversary, we've rounded up some of our favorite moments and milestones.

Founded in 1985, Tessuti is a private label shoe manufacturer china destination with over 100 designer collections for men and women from established fashion houses and up-and-coming designers. With over 30 years of luxury fashion retail experience, our selection of premium fashion brands is available online and in-store.
Tessuti is a UK-based designer chain retailing designer collections for men and women, including men's and women's clothing, shoes and accessories. Tessuti was founded by David Light in 1985 and 40% of the business was acquired by JD Sports PLC in May 2012 and has since become a key part of JD Sports PLC's strategy. In 2016, JD Sports acquired Tessuti wholly.
As of 2019, Tessuti had 38 stores, including stores in Liverpool, Chester, Leeds Merryhill, Meadowhall Sheffield and Ipswich. The retailer also has two stores within the Trafford Centre in Manchester and the Lowry Outlet store in Salford Quays. The multi-channel retailer also has stores at Bluewater Shopping Centre, Gateshead Metro Centre and Bradford Broadway Shopping Centre. JD Sports PLC acquired menswear brand Cecil Gee in 2012, converting all five branches into Tessuti stores. Tessuti's portfolio also includes the Aspecto and Infinities retail businesses, which were acquired by JD Sports PLC in 2015 as part of an ongoing rebranding under the Tessuti umbrella. New store openings in 2018 include new stores in Manchester Adair and Glasgowburg.
Tessuti founder David Light opened his first store at 53 Chester Watergate Row in April 1985. The first store to offer Chester multiple international brands, Tessuti's original store has brought new brands such as Stone Island, CP Company and Giorgio into town.
In late 2017, the brand received bad publicity when animal rights activists drew attention to the fact that stores were selling products using real animal fur and goose down.
In April 2018, Tessuti opened a flagship store in Chester at 30 Bridge Street, a Grade II listed building that used to be a Liberty store.
Tessuti is the main sponsor of the 2018 and 2019 Graduate Fashion Week Sports & Leisurewear Awards. The winner of the 2019 Tessuti Active & Leisurewear Award is Katherine Jayne-Watts for her sustainable activewear collection.
The Tessuti website was launched in 2006 as an extension of the business, offering the same brands available in Tessuti stores.
Cappelletti Family
The story of the C.A.M trademark intersects with the story of the Cappelletti family and the C.A.M factory.
The C.A.M. story first took root at the turn of 20th century. Creative and tenacious, Giuseppe Cappelletti begins repairing and producing made-to-order shoes in Caposelvi, a hamlet just outside Montevarchi near Florence. It didn’t take long before well-heeled clientele began taking notice of the fine, hand-crafted shoes of Cobbler Cappelletti of Caposelvi, as he names his little shop. Encouraged, Casual Shoes Manufacturer Giuseppe opens a larger storefront in Montevarchi at that time, a prosperous city already acclaimed around the world for hat manufacturing.
At the age of 7, his son Duilio begins spending time in his father’s workshop, sparking his own passion for footwear.
He works alongside Giuseppe until called up for service in World War II.
Calzaturificio Artigiani Montevarchi is Born
Duilio and a group of local cobblers organize the first shoemaking cooperative, initially located in a small space by the city.
They settle on the befitting name C.A.M., Calzaturificio Artigiani Montevarchi, and begin producing shoes, quickly achieving success.
Around 1950, the cooperative moves to a larger space outfitted with the latest machinery and increases its production output.
Its footwear is highly sought-after by female consumers and C.A.M.’s fame grows exponentially, so much so that in February 1952, C.A.M. registers as a trade mark to protect the C.A.M. brand, still held by the Cappelletti family today.
A walk around the world with C.A.M
The economic boom of the 1960s contributes to the international reputation of elegant Italian footwear. C.A.M. understood that the market wanted fine, high-quality shoes at a time when its own shoes were selling well in the marketplace. In hindsight, one might say that the company led the way to the world acclaim later achieved by the Made in Italy brand.
One curious footnote: the first C.A.M. footwear collection sent to the United States went down with the ocean liner Andrea Doria in 1956, a tragic baptism by sea.
Thanks to early successes, in the 1970s C.A.M. expands its production output, achieving a higher level of quality and design that allows it to forge even greater inroads into the high-fashion market.
Between 1970 and 1980, Italy establishes itself as a world-famous hub and reference point for superior quality high-fashion footwear.
Commercial affirmation
After working alongside his father for a decade, Luciano Cappelletti steps into the role of company director in 1982, revitalising a family tradition that brought about C.A.M.’s rise to industry leader. The company sees an ever-expanding worldwide sales and distribution network for the C.A.M. brands, Pierre Cardin by C.A.M., and Luciano Cappelletti Firenze, site of its showroom and the historic Campionaria and the International Show of Italian Footwear trade shows, attracting buyers from all over the globe.
Luciano stays active in the industrial fashion district in the province of Arezzo and, along with his father, represents C.A.M in ANCI (Association of Italian Shoe Manufacturers) and in the Italian Confederation in Milan and its local chapter in Arezzo.
Industry leader for over 70 years
At the twilight of his career, Luciano’s father Duilio, having excelled in the craft of shoemaking for over 70 years, is awarded the Fedeltà al Lavoro prize in the Vigevano Abbey dedicated to Saints Crispino and Crispiniano, protectors of shoemakers, an honour bestowed on the greatest Italian shoemakers.
Illustrious Designers
Through the decades, a succession of stylists design collections that C.A.M. subsequently launches onto the world market. Some go on to receive the highest accolades awarded in the Italian footwear sector.
Challenges of globalisation
Luciano’s five children enter the family business, representing the fourth generation of Cappelletti shoemakers. Anticipating the arrival of the global crisis of 2008, his eldest son Francesco makes the decision to move production to Tunisia and China to maintain the company’s competitive edge, while the designing of collections remains in Italy.
The company opens two production facilities: one in Guangzhou in Southern China for the upper part of the shoe, and in Tunisia where, along with the shoe’s upper part, the manufacturing of moulds, cushioning inserts, shanks, straps, insoles, and heels takes place, creating a complete mounting kit for assembly in Italy, achieving significantly lower manufacturing costs while upholding the quality and integrity of the Made in Italy brand.
Brands & Design
At the turn of the 21st century, overseas production and the marketing and design of footwear in Italy become less commercially viable.
The Cappelletti family, as owners of the C.A.M. trademark registered in Italy and in major countries worldwide, enters into royalty-based licensing agreements with retailers headquartered in Italy, Germany, China, Russia and Tunisia.
Today, C.A.M footwear is produced and sold by companies selected for both their quality/price ratio and fair trade practices that continue to uphold C.A.M footwear’s international focus.
Luciano Cappelletti children guarantee the quality of every collection entrusted to third-party manufacturers in the spirit of the original, elegant shoe created from the highest-quality materials, a signature of C.A.M. footwear for over 75 years.
Sneakers Smiles Authentic
On a work trip to Guangzhou (formerly Canton) China in May 2010, Luciano and son Francesco created and patented an original line of whimsical sneakers based on an idea suggested by Luciano’s daughter Margherita, once again in the spirit of originality and tradition, enduring hallmarks of the family.
The Smiles Authentic Sneakers line is licensed for manufacturing and marketing through an exclusive, royalty-based agreement per nation.
Berluti is a company specializing in the manufacture and retail of luxury branded footwear and boots for men. It is known for its unique leather finish. It also manufactures and sells a range of leather goods such as belts, bags and wallets with similar finishes.
Berluti is a well-known leather manufacturer, Running Shoes Manufacturer, that produces menswear, especially leather finishing calfskin, kangaroo and crocodile skins in its production of shoes and boots. It makes leather belts, bags, coin purses, and custom and ready-to-wear clothing. Berluti was founded in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti, an Italian from Marche, and is headquartered in rue Marbeuf, Paris. The latest creative director is Chris Van Asher (2018-2021).
Berluti was founded in 1895 by Italian Alessandro Berluti and was later run by Olga Squeri (also known as Olga Berluti). The LVMH group acquired Berluti in 1993. In 2012, Berluti acquired the Parisian tailor Anijia company and launched the first Pret-a-Porter menswear collection.
Since 2012, Berluti has been led by Antoine Arnault, son of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, who is also chairman of Loro Piana. In March 2014, Isabella Capece Galeota became Image and Communications Director.
In 2017, Business of Fashion named Berluti one of the 16 best companies to work for in the fashion industry.
All footwear manufacturing is located in the town of Gaibanella in Ferrara, while the quality control center is located at the company headquarters in Paris.
Berluti footwear has become an indelible must-have in modern men's haute couture. Their quality is unrivaled, a combination of inexplicably high-quality leather and other materials with traditional craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation.
French shoemaker Berluti turns 120 this year and has seen a sea change in its recent history. Founded in Paris in 1895 by Italian Alessandro Berluti, the brand was acquired by LVMH in 1993.
LVMH controls about 60 subsidiaries, each of which manages a handful of well-known brands, for a total of 75. These include Christian Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Loewe, Loro Piana, Kenzo, Celine, Fenty, Princess Yachts, TAG Heuer and Bulgari.
Scritto is the term Berluti used to describe the 18th century French alphabet that Olga Berluti bought at auction. Engraved text on all large and small leather accessories, shoes and belts. "It's an expression of a love of handcrafting and a symbol of the collection," says McKenzie.

A typical pair of Berluti custom shoes, designed by Casalonga or one of the company's two other master shoemakers, takes 50 man-hours to complete over a period of at least six months. They start at around $7,000 and can run much higher.
Typically, traditional handmade custom shoes should cost between $4,000 and $5,000. Truly exceptional custom shoemakers like Gaziano Girling can sometimes charge more.
